Quilting - A Gift made with love.

The quilt my mother made me arrived today! Have a look at this....

I can't decide which side to show off?

I am going to hang it on a wall. My dogs are too naughty to stay off anything like this. And my kids. Heck - I am not sure I can be trusted either.

But - Lucky me lucky me!

And Thank You and Bravo to my clever Mama.

It IS BEAUTIFUL, Melissa. Kudos to your Mother!! Such a gift and keepsake. Though I did have to take a 2nd look, I do believe that she used part of my sofa! It's all good, I like my sofa :-)
Cheers and hugggsss n stuff

That is beautiful! I think it would be a great idea to display both sides, just take turns... Hope this is your best year ever!

OMG, that is STUNNING!!! I LOVE it!! My friend's mum is a crafty chick and has one like that hanging over her balcony of her double story...the staircase actually. I guess, same as you, she has two little dogs, so no use on a bed or the floor. Or a couch either.
She also toured America a few years ago and got an American quilt too, that is stunning also.

Rox - that makes it more delicious that it has a fabric you recognise!

Big Mama - Yes! I think it is very good advice to show both sides.... I can alternate vases, fruit bowls etc from yellow (which I have plenty) to white... (which I can start collecting NOW!)

Cazzie - I have a feeling the ONLY person on earth who can use them as real quilts is my Mama... she doesn't have "cyclone" incidents and no one walks around her house with dangerous spill type stuff. I don't even think she has ever endured one food type throwing incident. Dang shame I didnt inherit her housekeeping abilities.

And YES - what a lovely start to 2007! I think all four of us are going to have a great one!

What a beautiful quilt! My children are now grown, as yours will be someday. One day it will feel like you winked, and they are gone! This treasure will last a long time. There will be plenty of time later to use it without fear of "incidents". You will almost yearn to have them back with their finger prints and all! You are very lucky to have a crafty mom! Enjoy.

Oh, very nice! I agree with Anon 9:27 - display it now, but use it when the kids move out. It looks very pretty. Your mom did a terrific job.
